Maketu March 4th 1872 Dear Sir I take the liberty of dropping you these few lines relative to the removal of Mrs.Hamlin and family from Napier to Maketu. The House will be finished and completed in every respect this week and a good substantial building it is. Sir George Arney admired it very much the other day on his way to Roto Mahana. If duty or convenience would admit of the Luna coming up this way I should like Mrs. Hamlin and family very much to come by her as the matter of getting the family and furniture from Tauranga here would be troublesome and inconvenient. Say nothing about the breakage etc. in trans-shipping - Should the above meet with your approbation I should feel ever obliged if you would let my brother in Napier know in time to get things ready. I sincerely trust that the matter of my suggesting the run of the Luna up here will not prove inconvenient - Affairs in the District of late have been more quiet than usual. I beg to remain Sir Respectfully yours F.E. Hamlin
