MR BROWN AT MOUNT SOMERS
Mr Brown addressed the electors ,at, Mount Somers on Saturday.;* evening. There were about 50 ..■electors present. Mr Harvy occupied the chair. Mr Brown as a stranger amongst them, gave a brief f'lccount of himself, and advocated his platform as already enunciated. In reply to questions he said he was m favor of the Private Schools Bill, and pointed out that it could not m any way hurt our present .system, bufc rather strengthen it; would support prohibition if such would close our gaols, md pay our national debt m a few years time, but he had great doubts about such results. Mr Price proposed a hearty vote of thanks, and said the ballot box was the proper place for a vote of confidence. Mr '-Brown concurred. The motion \Vas unanimously agreed to, and a, vote of thanks to the chair brought the meeting to a close- ■ ''<;.> ;
