TIJ-ACILLEATHEAN is..a handsome jJX dark, brown or black horse, and stands 16 hands high. He was got by the English Tim Whiffler out of Flying Scud. Flying Scud was a dark bay mare, bred m Victoria by Mr J. Harper m 1865, and was got by Fisherman. \ Tim Whiffler was scarcely ever beaten, and has won as many cups and handicaps as any other horse m England. He won the Chester Cup, and ran a dead heat with Buckstone for the Ascot Cap. Buckstone was another grand horse, and was famous not only for his dead heat he ran with Tim Whiffler for the Ascot C 'dn but also for his match against the Earl of Glasgow's Knowsley for 500 guineas aside, which he won m a canter. Tim Whiffler was the sire of Briseis, who wor. the Melbourne Cup and Derby,/arid the dam of Macilleathean being by Fisherman shows his grand strain of blpod ; as a study of the Stud Book will show that Musket's great success has been from Australian bred mares, for the descendants of the grand old Fisherman, viz., MartinirHenry, Nordenfeldt and.
