" Flying Scud w s a dark bay mare, bred m Victoria by Mr J. Harper m j 1865, and was got by Fisherman. Tim Whiffler was scarcely ever beaten and has won as many cups and handicaps as any other horse m England. He won the Chester Cup, and ran a dead heat with Buckstone for the Ascot Cap. Buckstone was another grand horse, and was famous no only for his dead heat he ran with Tim Whiffler for the Ascot C'dn but also for his match against the Earl of Glasgow's Knowsley for 500 guineas a^ide 3, which he won m a canter.
