Auckland, February 14. The Hospital inquiry was continued today. Nurse Goulstone was the only other witness called by Mr Rees, who appear* for Miss Arnaboldi Mr Cooper, the counsel for Dr. Collins, called as his first witness Miss Baker, head nurse, who deposed that Berry and McKenzie appeared to haV© been properly and carefully treated. There was not excessive bleeding from Berry's hand. She considered that m the operation on McKenzie every care was taken. She had been m. the hospital during the time that Dr. Collins was there, and there had been m that j time many cases of both classes, serious operations and medical cases, and they had always been attended to. This afternoon a fire broke out among the flax .stowed m the yard of Ross' flax mill a«d spinning factory, Nith street, and adjoining Messrs Guthne^nd Co. s woodware factory. Both establishments have a special water service lor fire, and the flames were speedily extinguished. The flax was covered with galvanised iron and the day being hot and sun strong it is supposed that the fire originated that way- This is the second fire on the same fpj&mises .recently.
