POLITICAL NOTES.
(rEly I'KIS.SS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, February 24. The Auckland Liberal Association at a meeting to-night resolved to present an address to Sir George Grey before his departure for -Sydney to attend the Federation Conference. Owing to the recent breakdown of the Tarawera, that vessel will not leave Auckland for Sydney till Thursday, and, therefore, Sir George Grey, who will be a passenger, will be unable to be present at the opening of the Convention. The Earl of Onslow has abandoned his intention of visiting the Thames and Coromandel, as the Hinemoa is not available, Wellington, February 24. The Minister of Lands was unable to leave for the south yesterday, but goes m the Takapuna this evening. Owing to the alterations m the movements of the Hinemoa, the visit of the Native Minister to Auckland has been deferred for the present.
