Ottawa, May 22. A scene of intt.ise excitement toDk place iii the House of Co'mmbns to-day when the motion was tabled to abrogate the Federal Franchise Act. The Government strongly opposed the motion, which ultimately was rejected by a insyority of twerity^seven. • On the decision being announced the members of the Ministry and a number of their supporters sang " God save the Queen."
