LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Wellington- August 5. The Council met at 2.30. THB LABOK BILLS. A number of petitions were presented in favor of the Shop Hours Bill. The Committee on the Employers' Liability Bill recommended that the Bill be allowed to proceed with amendments. INSURANCE BONUSES. In reply to a question, Mr Buckley said fchafc bonuses to policy-holders of Government Life Insurance would be paid shortly. BANKRUPTCY BILL. A Select Committee was appointed to consider the Bankruptcy Bill. SECOND READING. The Auctioneers' Bill was read a second time.
