Christchurch, December ?. Store Sheep—The demand for store sheep .of any kind caused prices to regain firm, and a clearance was effected, Tlje number yarded wm frcm 2000 to 2500, Two-tootl;
crossbreds, 12s to 13s; four-tooths up to lisf, i aged crossbred shorn ewes, with full percentage of lambs, 183; woolly merino ewes and lambs, lls 6d to 13s 6d. Fat Lambs—Boo were yarded, and found a ready market, but at a trifle lower rates than late week's, except for prime freezers. Prices ranged from Ss 3d to 14s 3d. Fat Sheep — The sale of 5500 yarded was not so miniated as last week's, as buyers for export were still holding off, and trade requirements were nob so heavy as recently. Best crossbred wethers were disposed of at 12s 3d to 15a 6d; maiden ewes, lls 6d to 13s. Merino wethers brought 8s to 10s 9s for shorn sheep, and lls to 13s for those in wool. Fat Cattle—A. smaller entry than for some weeks past met with a. fair demand. Best steers sold at I*6 15s to £8 53 ; heifers, ' £9 17s 6d to £7. There was a smaller percentage of cows than usual. Second quality of beef was not iv good demand. Stork Cattle— The sale of young cattle of all kinds was brisker than usual, every head being snapped up at fancy prices. Eighteen-months-old sold at £2 18s to £3 3s I6d ; two-year-olds, £3 to £3 15s; two-and- | a-half-year-olds up to £4 153; three-and-four-year-old bullocks up to £6 7s. Pius—A limited entry caused keen competition. Baconere realised 3fd per lb; porkers, 4d per Id.
