CONTINGENT FUND, The sum of £53 10s 6d »as received. officers, 1892-3. The following appointments were made:— Book Steward-Rev C, E. Ward. District Treasurer—Mr J. Tayloi. Treasurer of the Children's Equalisation Fund—Mr J. Watkinson. Treasurer of the New Zealand Ministers' Widows and Orphans Fund—Mr O. Froggatt. Secretary and Treasurer of Fire, Insurance—Mr D. G oldie | Loan Fund—Secretary, Rev C, E. I Ward ; Treasurer, Mr J. Taylor. Editors—Revs Guy and Potter. I Ecclesiastical Head Key C. E. Ward. Secretary and Treasurer of Furnishing Fund—Mr T. F. Gibson. Home Missions' Fund—Rev W. S, Potter, Secretary. A number of committees were appointed. FRATERNAL GREETIFGB. A telegram was received from the Bible Christian Conference reciprocating the fraternal greetings sent. sifthodist union. - A letter was read from the President of the Wesleyan Church, and the following resolution was passed : — " That the letter of the Rev G. Bond, President of the Wesleyan Conference, relative to the appointment of the committee to meet a similar committee appointed by thai church to discuss the question of Methodist Union, be received, and that he be informed that when the church referred to is prepared to admit and to give effect to the principle of equal rights to ministers and laymen in every church court and upon every question coming before such courts, we shall with very great pleasuie authorise our Committee to confer wi.h them, with a view to the formation of one Methodist Church for New Zealand." BUNDAV SCHOOL UNION. Resolved that the district Sunday school committee draw up a pian during the year for the formation of a Sunday School Union. INCREASES. During the year the following increases were recorded :—Members 72, Scholars 518. SOCIAL VICES. A motion expressive of regret at the prevalence of intemperance, gambling and other social evils was passed. LADY GLASGOW. Resolved, that a telegram be sent to Lvdy Glasgow expressed the high appreciation of her work in connection with the formation of Home Associations. SPECIAL VOTES OF THANKS. ' That this be given to Mr and Mrs Davies for their kind attention to the late Mr Feltham, and letter be sent. Votes of thanks were also passed to the officers of the District Meeting, and to the editors of the papers for the efficient services rendered. ORDINATION SERVICES. Rev J. Nixon was appointed to deliver the charge to the probationers, and Rev Sharp the charge to the people at the ordination service next year ; and the Rev 3. Guy was asked to publish the charge delivered at the ordination service at the present Conference. sympathy. A letter of sympathy was sent to Mr Anton in his trouble, CONFERENCE 1894. Resolved that the next Conference be held in New Plymouth on Wednesday, January 10, 1894, at 10 o'clock. NEWSPAPER REPORTS. That a letter be sent to the editor of the Ashburton Mail and Guardian for his courtesy and kindness in giving such good reports of the work of the Conference.
