By telegram we have been apprised of the death to-day of fttr J. Mangham, who was for many years a well-known farmer at Chertaey. The telegram gives only the short facts of his age and death, along with the reference to his Chertaey history. He was 63 years of age. In the evening Lady Glasgow presided at a largely attended meeting in the Oddfellows' Hall, Christchurch, for a similar purpose. Addresses were given by lady Glasgow, and Mesdames Cunnington, O Bryen-Hoare, Miss Torlesse, the Revs J. O'Bryen-Hoaie, Dr Elmslie, H. 0. M. Watson, and W. §. Seajj. A large hfatibh waji fgrme;d, and a committee of eighteen, ladies was elected. The Governor leaves for the south on Saturday.
