Zanzibar, March 6. Seyyid Khalifa-bin^Said, the Sultan, died from dropsy, Two hundred and fifty of the crew of H.M.S Philomel were sent ashore to guard the palace. Prince Kiled and his secretary entered the palace and attempted to bar the British Consul, Mr Rodd, from doing so, and the latter had the Prince conducted to bis own house, and then proclaimed Prince Hamed Sultan. The ceremony passed off quietly.
