Paris, March 17, M. Jules Ferry, President of the Senate, and formerly Prime Minister of France. March 18. M. Ferry's death was the indirect result of the attempt made to assassinate him in 1887,whenhe was wounded by a shot fired by a named Aubertin/.., The Parisian press says that the late M. Ferry was one of the greatest figures, and the best friend of the Republic. March 19. AI. Ferry will be accorded a State funeral on Wednesday. M. Oonstans will probably succeed him as President of the Senate.
