The " Morning Advertiser " consider" that the offer of help from Cape Colony manifests an immense reserve of strength in the Empire, and marks an epoch in j Colonial history. The committee appointed in Glasgow to cake measures to protect the uninsured depositors, insist on the limitation of dividends in the reconstructed banks until the deposits shall have been repaid. The " Times " bays that the Australian banks are now withdrawing gold from Melbourne, and also stopping a portion of the late shipments at Colombo. Buenos Ayrbs, May 30. The Argentine Republic is determined to restore public credit, and to that end a Commission has been appointed to Arrange for the repayment of the debt, and to capitalise the overdue interest. Sydnky, May 30. The depositors and shareholders in the City of Melbourne Bank have accepted the reconstruction scheme.
