London, June 8. The first inninga of the Cambridge University closed for 290. Ranjit Singh, an Indian student, was highest scorer, with 58, Jones 35, Perkins 32. Turner took three wickets for 82, 'I'rumble two for 26, George Giffen two for 77. The remaining' wickets were taken by different bowlers. The Australians have began their first innings, and have no wickets do^n for 47, Lyons being not out with 20. (Received June 10; 10.50 a.m.) London, June 9. The Australians followed on, being all out for 196-Lyons 35, Bannerman 38, Giffen 33.
