LIBERAL GIFT.
New York, December 28. Carnegie, the millionaire, has promised a donation of £1000 for each working day in January and February in aid of the fund for the relief of the Pittsburg poor. In addition to his handsome donation to the poor of Pittsburg, Mr Carnegie is running his mills during the winter months at a loss of £20,000.
