FILLIS' NEW CIRCUS.
The holiday season will just bo over when Fillis comes back to Ashburton on the first Friday of the New Year, and for one night at leant the young people will have a second Xmas time—in an entertainment after their own heart. Fillia is coming with all his following cf Hone, tigers, elephants, and monkeys ; with all his company of equestrians, acrobats, clowns, and clever people generally. Mr Fillis brings a new company aleng— at least as far as the performers are conearned. At present the troupe art winning golden opinions for their arenio exploits m Dunedin, and the Press of that city are emphitic in their praise of the new people. The company are on their farewell tour of Maoriland," and will perform here for one day only on their way to Christohurch, they will arrive by three special trains on Friday morning next. A gorgeous street parade will traverse the streets at 11.30, and at 3 o'clock an afternoon performance will be given. The evening entertainment will take place at 8 o dock, bat on* each oocasion the doors will be opentd one hour earlier to allow ample time to view the animals fn the menagerie before the performances commerces. The brig it particular stars on this occasion are theFeely family (six in all), with Lazel and Alexandra a good second, and the Mayor troupe close up. Some performing bears and taxing kangaroos have been added to the menagerie and, if we may believe the picture* on the walls many other wonderful animals. However, the troupa will no doubt speak for itself when it arrives, and if there is a doubt in the minds of anyone «w to what the show will be like, they have only to come into town early in the day and witness the street parade which will certainly be a " foretaste of joys to come."
