DRAIN CUTTING EXTRAORDINARY.
7b Editor of Auckland Examiner. Sir, —I beg to ask you if it be legal for Superin•tendent Williamson to allow any person to break up the public road and cut a drain, to let water from his own paddock, and through it, into the paddock of his neighbor. The person lam alluding to is a .great crony of our Superintendent and a brother of our fine “soul of honor” Buckland. The law of England states that you shall not run water on your neigbour’s ground, to his injury in any way, but Cheap John allows Mr. Alfred Buckland to break up and cut a drain across the Kyber Pass Jioad, to drain the water from his own ground auto the garden of a hard working man isnuned Roach, to the great injury of his little property and serious loss to his business. I hear that we are likely soon to have a law suit on the subject <ofa case very similar to this. If any such case is .taken into either of our Law Courts, I hope justice twill be done to the injured party. 1 remain, Sir, Your most obedient servant. Do AS YOU WOULD BB DONE BY. March 2, 1859.
