Mr. Sydney J. Brookfield (Returning Officer for the Jlanukau electorate) waited upon the Onehunga Borough Council at the close of the ordinary meeting on Monday night with regard to the coming licensing election. 'Mr. Brookfield reminded the Council that they had to furnish the necessary funds for carrying on the -which [he estimated would amount to £140 or £150. The Finance Committee was instructed to co-operate in this direction with Mr. Brookfleld.
