MAHENO REAPPEARS.
A NEW LEASE OF LIFE. Reappearing in the inter-colonial passenger service between Sydney and New Zealand, the Union Company's steamer Maheno arrived at Auckland to-day with 230 passengers. She is a much different vessel from the one that was seen swinging in Rose Bay, Port Jackson, last year, by trippers to the Commonwealth, and the extensive overhaul and refitting, which -was recently carried out at Wellington, has given her more than the smell of a new ship. She has been given a new lease of life and is to maintain a speed of 10 knots in the Sydney trade. One feature of the ship that has been retained is the amplitude of the bathing, hygienic accommodation, and the liberal allowance for light and air. The Maheno has accommodation for 313 saloon and 145 steerage passengers. r
