SYDNEY, January loT* The Earl of Cassillis arrived at Fremantle yesterday, en route to New Zealand and the various States of Australia. I The Earl is a Freemason of high stand- j ing, being the First Grand Principal of j the Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Scotland, a 32nd degree Mason, Viceroy of the Knights of Constantine, and a j member of the Grand Lodge of Scotland ' His immediate purpose in making the trip to Australia is to be present at the diamond jubilee anniversary of the of Scottish Royal Arch Freemasonry in New South Wales. Lord Cassillis is also a barrister-at-law and a major of the British army, having served with distinction in tlie South African and European campaigns. He is the eldest son of the Marquis of Ailsa. He is accompanied by Lady Cassillis. It is the intention of Lord Cassillis to visit the Masonic Chapters of Western Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand before appearing officially in Masonic I circles in New South Wales. His tour I of the Chapters in this State will commence by his presence at a Grand Chapter convocation on February 14, at which | it is expected that 2000 Freemasons will ! >c present, and which will be followed j by a banquet.
