AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.

The thirteenth annual meeting of the New Zealand centre of St. John Ambulance Association, was held last night at the City Council chambers. Miss Pheney was voted to the chair. There was a moderate attendance.

Votes of thanks were unanimously accorded to the lecturers, the examiners, the auditor and the hon. treasurer, Capt. Garsia. The annual report and balance-sheet, which were taken as read, were adopted. The balance-sheet showed that the receipts had been £15215s 6d, of which £25 15s was a balance brought forward, £38 17s subscriptions and donations, £22 13s lid jmtet}Q&>}&&Xsi 5s classJees, and £27 _3s. Id transport fees. The 'expenditure was" £132 4s 6d, the larger amounts ■■ of which were—Material purchased £27 18s, invalid transport service £16 18s 6d, secretary's salary £52. A credit balance was left of £20 11s. The report contained an account of the work done during the year, and the positions of the various branches, and recorded the thanks of the Association to the medical staff for their generous help in the way of gratuitous lectures and instruction to classes, as well as the equally responsible and critical task of examining. The following Committee was elected for the ensuing year :—The president and the hon. sec. of the Canterbury branch of the Medical Association, the resident medical officer of the hospital, the matron of the hospital. Mesdames I. Gibbs, Hacon, Izard, Julius, Kinsey, Louisson, Milsotn, Nashelaki and H. R. Webb, Misses Pheney and F. M Willis, and Messrs J. Connal, T. Gapes, I. Gibbs, H. J.C. Jekyll, S. Manning, H. R. Webb, W. H. R. Teape, and Superintendent E. Smith.

A vote of thanks to the lady who occupied the chair closed the meeting.
