MADDEN, William James — On August 3, 1988 (suddenly), at Christchurch, loved brother and brother-in-law of Dennis and Barbara, Eileen and Jim Palmer, Joan and Ray Dorrance, Albert and Lillian Harris, and the late Kathleen and Ernest Topp, and loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews; in his 67th year. Now resting peacefully. The Funeral service for Bill will be held In the Canterbury Crematorium Chapel, Linwood Avenue, on Monday, August 8, at 3.45 p.m. Academy Funeral Services, Ltd.

MONTGOMERY, Annie Gordon (late of Withells Road) — On August 4,1988, wife of the late John Montgomery, much loved mother and mother-in-law of Jock and Mary, Diane and Bill, and Mary and the late Hugh Montgomery, grandmother of John, Stephen, David, Andrew, Mathew, Anne, Shan, John, Peter, and Jane, and greatgrandmother of Ann and Alice. MOSS, Elsie Annette (late of Lyttelton) — On August 3, 1988, at Silverstream Hospital, loved wife of the late William (Bill) Jefferies and the late Leonard (Len) Moss, and a loved sister, sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt; aged 94 years. The Funeral service will be held at Silverstream Hospital Chapel, on Monday, August 8, at 11 a.m., thereafter private cremation.
NIGHTINGALE, Cecil Alister, Q.S.M. (4216196 R.N.Z.A.F.) - On August 5, 1988 (suddenly), at his home, 498 Thames Highway, Oamaru, dearly loved husband of Sylvia, dearly loved father and father-in-law of Pat and Jim Salton (Ranglora), Pam (Auckland), Joy and Noel Riddell (Waianakarua), and Rodney and Alison (Auckland), and loved granddad of his 15 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; in his 76th year. The Funeral will leave St Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Coquet Street, Oamaru, on Monday, August 8, after a service commencing at 2 p.m., for the Oamaru Soldiers’ Lawn Cemetery. SMITH, Mary Ethol — On August 3, 1988 (suddenly), at her home, dearly loved only daughter of the late Sarah and Walter Smith (Tlmaru), loved sister of the late John, Walter and Robert, and loved aunt of Colleen McLoughlin, and Jennifer and Walter Smith.
