FIRE IN DUNEDIN.
(By Electric Telegraph.) f From our own Correspondent, i Tuesday, 1.56 p.m. \ estenlay forenoon, at 12 o’clock, a fire broke out in Jago’s Flax Store, iu Stuartstreet, which resulted iu the entire destruction of the building, and the whole of its valuable contents. The loss is over .H4OOO, which is nearly all covered by insurance, " A tragical incident occurred towards the close of the fire. was yet a raging mass of fire iu, the building, a man named lie,man deliberately walked forward, and threw himself into the flames. The hose wa» brought to bear upon the spot, and Be was almost immediately got out, life was, however, frightfully burnt,, and is not expected to live.
