On the 18th inst., a fatal accident of a painful nature occurred on the railway line near Christchurch. . A man was driving a team of three horses, and sitting on the shaft of.the dray, alongside the line, which is not fenced. Wishing to cross the line, and not hearing the train coming along, he turned his horses for that purpose on to a Yankee crossing.
