SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY

The seafarers came in for a great treat at tlio Sailors’ Friend Society on Tuesdiiv. when they were the guests of Lady Stout and members of the Pioneer Club, under the. leadership of Mrs. Ginn. Solos, gloDs, and recitals made the time pass all too quickly. The performers were the Glee Club, Mesdames Townley, Mitchell, Ginn, Miss Price, and Messrs. Norman, Lester, and Boyne. Mr. Moore spoke on “Grog” in relation to temperance, and pledges followed. _ Ths competition prizes, which were indeed novel, came from Mesdame.s J. My?rs and Ginn and Miss Madison, and went to tho men in port. Mrs. Gooder, hon. secretary, responded to the vote of thanks moved b 5 Mr, 11, T. Johns.
