April 14. 1 have very little news to send you from this quarter. The ' Eclipse,' our old familiar fi lend, is goinsj off". Her good fellows will no longer gladden our eyes, nor will her symmetrical form attract attention any longer on the clear waters of the Waikato. lleally we shall not feel at home lor a long time till we get over the habit of rubbing our eyes, and sajing, "Wherever 13 the Eclipse?" The recollection of Coddinjjton, Stovin, and other lo&fc ones, will not for along time be effaced from our memory. They have all our best wishes that they may serve God and their Queen faithfully, and meet their rewards. Things are going smootlily here.

Otahl'hu.— Military Band.— We have pleasure in announcing to the inhabitants of Ot.ihuhii and neighbomhood that, by permission of the offlceis comnrtndnig detachments stationed at Otahiihu camp, a imhtaiy band will play at the camp from three till half-past fom o'clock every Tuesday and Friday afternoon, weathei peimitting. This will be a great treat to the inhabitants of the populous district adjoining Otahuhu, and will no Joubt lead to an interchange of courtesies which will be mutually agreeable. Anatomical Masuoar. —We have aheacly noticed the arrival of Messis. Kieitmayer's and Wishbeart's anatomical museum by the 'Ciest of the Wave,' fiom Lytteltou. It has becu exhibited all over Victoua, and in poitionsof New Zealand; and judging fiom the veiy creditable manner in which it has beou spoken of by the Australia!) and. New Zealand Press, it will be well woith seeing. The Melbourne Argus thus speaks of it: — " Of the skill with which these works of oero-plastic art are executed, theie cau be but one opinion. They are distinguished by gieat accuracy m lospecfc of configuration, and the qualitative resemblance to the tissues imitated is singularly successful." An exhibition of this kiod will combine instruction with recieation ; and we have no doubt that Mr. Kreitmayer and his partner will be successful in their visit to this town. Sad Accident. — A sad and frightful accident occurred on Thursday evening to a son of Mr. Seccombe, the well-known brewer. It appears that he was •hifting the lid of one of the vats, containing some boiling liquid, when he fell in, and with the exception of a portion of his left arm and the top of his head, was submerged in it. On being taken out and his clothes removed the skin peeled off fiom his body, and his sufferings must have been intense. Two medical men have been m attendance on him, and we are pleased to hear that theie is a poasibilty of his recovery, for at five o clock yesterday afternoon he was slightly better. fe Auckland Rifle Volunteers —There is to he a general parade of the Auckland Rifle Volunteeis in the Albert Barrack square, on Tuesday morning next, at G o clock. Provincial Works.— Th« Superintendent will receive tenders until Satuulay, May 7, for clearing the road fiom Arapawa to Tokotoko, in the MaUkohe block. Tracings *nd spfccificatwus are to be seen at Mi. Johnson's, Post-office, Port Albert. Piunce op Walks' Thkatrk —There was not a veiy large audience at tins place of enteitainroent last night. The peifoimunces commenced with the pomedy of the " Golden Cross," and closed with the farce of "State Secret?."
