It is the intention of the Committee to hold an Exhibition in Auckland, of the collection, befoie transmitting it to Otago, at which premiums will be awai ded for articles considered of sufficient meut. The commission nominated by HL> Excellency the Govemoi, have intimated that they will be prepaied to receive articles on and after the first day of October next, and have fixed the 12th of December as the latest date ou which aiticles can be leceived ; the collection fiom Auckland wonldtheiefore require to be shipped eaily. in November The Committee have fixed the 20th day of October as the latest date at which articles can be leceived in Auckland. As it is in contemplation by some membeis of the Committee, and likewise by the Hon. The Committee earnestly trust that every effort will be made in furnishing a complete collection of articles manufactured and produced m this Piovince; and as they aie fully impressed with the importance of Exhibitions generally, and the large amount of benefit resulting therefrom, they confidently anticipate that new resouices of trade will open up in the export of many articles which are now manufactured by the aid of machinery and otherwise to a considerable extent in this Province. The Committee request that intending exhibitors will forwaid to the Secretary, in writing, with as little delay as possible, a li^t of the articles iutended to be piepared foi exhibition, with the amount of space (superficial area) required ; also the wall space ; as the Ist of May is the latest date allowed by the New Zealand Commission for receiving applications for space.
