The amalgam was retorted last night, and the gold melted to-day at the Union Bank to a return of 3-loz. Gdivt. Ggr. Inverness Company : Owing to an accident to the spur and pinion wheels of the driving gear at Goodall's battery, crushing for this company is at a standstill for the present. The amalgam that had been collected during six days' run was retorted last night, and gave 112oz. 13dwfc. of gold. The Bank of New Zealand shipped 2, 1450z. of gold for Auckland m the steamer ' Royal Alfred' on June 23, this being for the week just expired.

June 2-1. All Nations : The retorting was finished last evening, and the yield, 4420z. 9dwt., Imperial Crown : The gold from the late crushing at the Tramway machine was lodged in the BaDk of New Zealand tins morning aud melted, tlie final result being 520z. 3dwt., or at the rate of 3oz. 14dwt. A parcol of 9oz. 3dwt. of gold, from the late crushing of Excelsior stone at the F.D.K. battery, Hape Creek, was lodged iv the Bank of New Zealand this morning. Shotover Company: 301ez. 18dwt. of gold, the result of the crushing at Partiugton's battery, were lodged in the Union Bank to-day, on account of the Shotover Company. Royal Blue : Coz. B.\dwb. of gold have been obtained from 18 tons of stone taken out of the Time Bine Claim, Moanataiari. Twoedside : 9oz. 16dwt. of gold from the Tweedside Claim have been lodged in the Bank of New Zealand to-day. Goldfinch Claim : The late crushing for this claim was completed last night at the Tramway battery ; the return being 230z. 13dwt. retorted, which turned out 21oz. of melted gold at the Bank of New Zealand. June 25. Golden Crown Company : The usual weekly cleaning up was finished to-day, to a total return o£ 2540z, of retorted gold. Kuvanui Company : The fortnightly cleaning up was accomplished to-day ; the return being 4500z. retorted gold. Tapu: A small parcel of 17oz. of gold from Buckland's Battery, Tapu, was lodged at the Bank of New Zealand to-day. Specimen Lots : Several small lots of gold, the result of trial crushings and specimen lots, were melted yesterday in the Baiik of New Zealand. One parcel weighed 4oz. \ 9dwt. 19gr., another 3oz. lOdwt., and another 2oz. 15dwt. Tim, added to the first lot deposited, makes a total of 3970z. 15dwt. 12gr., being at the rate of nearly 2oz. to the ton. The Imperial Crown : A small lot of stone from tho Imperial Crown, taken oat of Lundon's old shaft, has been crashed at the Tramway Battery, and yielded a result of 4oz. 2dwfc. from 9 tons of stone. Gold from Tapu : A small parcel of gold from Tapu, weighing 17oz. 15dwt., was yesterday lodged in the Bank of New Zealand. The Union Bank of Australia at Grahamstown shipped for Auckland, per p.s. June 30. Goodall'a Battevy_ : Monthly Keport. — We have been furnished wibh the monthly returna from Goodall's battery tip to date. A divitlcml of ss. per share in the Kurauui Goldmining Co. has been made payable at the Company's office.

A crushing of some good stone had been going on for several days at the Middle Star battery, and the result was made known to-day, when Jo3oz. retorted gold weie lodged and melted at the Bank of .New Zealand, and after the process weighed 18Qoz. 13dwt. Only 15 tons of .stone were crushed, and came from a rich surface leader about the old workings. Pretty Nelly, Haps Creek : The gold obtained from the late crushing of Pretty Nelly stove, afc the Hape Creek battery, was melted at the Bank of New South Wales to-day, and gave 31oz. Sdwt. 15«;r. of the reduced metal. Flying Cloud Company : The month's returns of tin's promising company amount to 22] oz. of gold, of which 70oz. ldwt. came out of the last lot of stone (55 tons) crushed at Soutev's mill. A few more ounces will be added to this when the tailings from the blanketings are treated. The Nil Desperandum, Coromandel, dum have been crushing for the Flying Cloud, and the yield was 3oz. to the ton. The machine is now crushing for the Eiin's Hope. Some splendid stone has been taken from the Tokatea during the week, some of the specimens weighing over 201b., and calculated to yield a very large amount of gold. A specimen and general crushing will take place as soon as it can be got down the hills. The Independent Claim, on the old Kapanga ground, has been yielding some of the best aud richest stone I have seen for along time. This will turn out a very valuable claim, as the stone is very rich and easily procured. The Homeward-Bound, at the Tiki, have been getting good stone, quite equal, I'am told, to the Piide of the Hills.

July 2. Golden Crown Company : The usual weekly cleaning up took place to-day, and I am pleased to be able to record a very marked ijn.proveiu.ejat in tlie yield of gold. The quantity of stone crushed was 113 tons, -which gave 3960z, 15dwt. of gold. About 18 tons of the stuff came out of the new leader, and is estimated to have yielded 160oz. of gold. Hence it is evident that the quality of the general stuff has vastly improved ; last week it was less than loz. to the ton, this week it is considerably above it. The gold waa melted at the Bank of New Zealand, and then weighed 381oz. 4dwfc. The Una Company : This company cleaned-up to-day after a fortnight's cuishing, which has given 1750z. of melted gold. Wild Missouri : A parcel of gold weighing 170z., from this claim, was lodged in the Bank of New Zealand to-day. Another small parcel of 12oz. was also deposited on account of Tookey's battery. Ballarat Star : The gold obtained from 1 tho seven tons of stone crushed at the Manukau machine was melted at the Bank of New Zealand to day, and weighed soz. lOdwt,

July 4. Halcyon Machine: The crushing for the Young Australian Company, that is going on at this machine, is looking up for loz. return. ! Cleaning up will take place to-morrow or the I day after. Two tons of stone from the All- i Eight Claim gave a total return of 12dwt. Inverness Company : Thia mine is showing up magnificently, and promises to soon be second to no other in the field. Over 200oz. of hard-squeezed amalgam were taken off the plates on Saturday, and the plates were again loaded this morning, when 1 visited the battery.
