REQUISITION TO HIS HONOR THE SUPERITENDENT. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Hamilton, September 14.
Sunday last will be a red-letter day for Hamilton, being the first day the new puut commenced running. During the day some hundreds passed over, and all w^re loud in praise of ite efficiency. It is at present worked by the contractor, My. Mclnne*, and reflects great credit on that gentleman. It will accommodate with safety some twenty head of cattle. — At the Jockey Club meeting held last week at Ohaupo it was unanimously decided to hold the next meeting atHamilton, Mr. Jolly having given his paddock for the next meet. Mr. Farrell was appointed secretary and treasurer, vice Mr, J. Knox, resigned.— A requisition ia on the tapis to request his Honor the Supeiintendent to allow himsslf t© be nominated a member for the Waikato in. the next Parliament.
