PIGEON FLYING
HASTINGS CLUB'S RACE. FLIGHT FROAI MASTERTON. The Hastings Club flew thcir race from Masterton on Saturday last. Tho birds were liberated by Mr Emerson of that town in iine weather, and the winning bird flew the distance of 114 milcs in two liours, 3G minutes, 28 seconds. Alr Harrison liad four birds competing in tliis race, all being bred from tlie Ollerenshaw and Osman srrains, and the four birds arrived togetlier well aliead of the other lofts. The rcsults were as follow : — A. Harrison', s b.c. cock, "The Wliistler," 1272.4 yards por minute, i; C. J. H. Baker's b.c. lien, "No. 17" 1241.1, 2; 0. J. H. Baker's b.c. cock, "The Hawk," 1235.S, 3; J. Holmes' b. cock, "Crowbar," 1213.1, 4 The birds will be hampcred _for the Pharazyn Cup on Thursday night.
