THE RECENT MOTOR SPORTS.

"ONCE BITTEN."

To the Editor. Sir, — If tlie Napier Alotor Cycle Racing Club think they can c-ontinue treating tlie public as they are treating tbcm, then they surely bave, to use- an Aniericamsm, "got another think comjng." Iu their programmes for the last - Easter sports the names of such crack riders as P- Coleman, J. R. Arnott and D. Managh Avere conspicuous as being enfered for a number of racos, but as 011 previous occasion they were present in the progromlne only. 1 was very interested to see the names of some of the above riders mentioned as liaving taken part in races in Wellington 011 the same date as those in Napier. Now, sir, does this amount to deceptiou of thc public by tbe racing club? Did the racing club lcnow tliat tbe riders mentioned would not be in Napier for the Easter sports? The public are long suffering, but if the Alotor Cycle Racing Club thinks it will stand this sort of thing tliey will soon find by their gatc receipts tliat they are hopelessly wrons. — 1 am. etc..

Napier, April 6, 192y. Tbe secretary of tbe club. Alr A. II. Morice. iutcrviewed this morning with regard to tlie above complainr, said tliat D. Alanagh and J. It. Arnott -both entercd for the sports, the former by filling in an entry form and Ihe latter by giving a personal undertaking to appear. P. Coleman was to appear at the meeting, but for some reason not yet known to tlie executive be did not come. Tbe A.C.U.. the governing body of motor cycling, grantcd a perniit for a cLii'fc track meeting in AYellington on the same day as tho Napier gatliering. and all three riders named were in Wellington to appear at that gatliering, which offered better prize money than the Napier 011c. Coleman did not ride at Wellington on Easter Monday. — Ed. D.T.
