WHAT FARMERS WANT. RESOLUTION FllOM HASTINGS. Tlie following resolntion adoptcd by the Dominion oxecutivc of the Ncw Zealand Farmers' Union, lias been approved by tlie Hawke's Bay cxecutive of the union: — "Tliat we strongly oppose tlie introduetion of anv educational system or methods that will have tlie cffect of weakening our primarv schools, or will result in anv curtailment of tlieir functions. Tliat, as a general intrcduction of junior higli schools will inevitablv liave this effect we must not oppose tlie adoption of the system. Further tliat tlie difficulties arising 011 trausl'er of pupils from jiriniary to seeondary schools sliould be overeonie by the aniendment of tlie syllabus of tlie seeondary as wcll as tlie primary schools.
