SYDNEY, April 21. Charlie Purdy (10.3) outpointed Bob Lasalle (lO.lOt), described as the Pacific cdast comedy tiger, who cut all sorts of antics in tbe ring and was cautioned several times for irregnlarities. Purcly, who fought well, landed good puuches in the early rounds, but was nearly outed in the sixtli with a lucky swing to tlie jaw. Purdy then livened up and scored witli 1111 excellent left. Botli men tired in the ninth. Purdy's eye was swollen. He once fell tlirougb the ropes, the outcome of successive illegnl punches, mostly at the back of tho head, Purdy won a popular verdict.
