The couut wa.s takou bctween o . 1 -l p in. and 0.10 p.in. — a slack tiinc — and was oommenocd at the end of tln Marine Parade at Napier and finished ar the interscotion of Karamu road nnd St. Aubyn street. Dcspite the luur, a total of S3 cars (huses not i'lfludcd) was liict, SO going froin Hastings to Napier, and tlirce ovcrtnking the rcijorter's car. Considcring tlio tinie and tlie weatlier conditions tl.i.s was a surprising total. and thcc mu^t Jiave hecn inany niore cars on tlie road. counting tliose which wcre coming beliind. Tt is intemsting to notc that of the S.'J cars, 3 wcre closed in vehiclcs, the remaindcr being of the opcn typc.
