SEGRAYE'S RECORD STANDS. Speed Of 218 Miles Attained.
(Received This Day, 11 a.m.j CAPETOWN, April 21. Captain Alalcolm Canipbell failed to beat Sir Henry Segrave's record speed for raeing inotor cars, liis averago speed twice over a mile being 218 miles per liour, compared witli liis rival'a best of 231 miles per bour. He covered tlie outward run in 2min. 24secs against wind and sun. Tlie return run took 2mins. 12sccs., with tlio wind and sun behind him. Notwithstanding the failure it is aenerally recognised tliat Captain Campbeil has jiroved tliat the 3Terneukpan is to be tlie world's raeing track of tbe future.
