On tbe motion ot Cr. ilartin tbe suggestion 'vas adopted. 'llie letter was referred to tho tlieatre committee, it heing explained tliat tlie introduction of community lighting had been dclaved through the cliange over and the fact that the relailers had not yec rcplied to the council's letter on the suhiect. A. Douglas Spiers wrote forwarcling an acconnt for professional fees on beliaTf of the assoeiated nrcbitects of Napier in connection with the compiehensive sketch plan for tbe ereetion of buildings to covcr tlie whole of the Market Reserve block. Tbe Cominission was £1.850, being 1| per eent of tlie estimated eoist of the buildings, £90,000. Tlie letter was referred to tlie speeial committee deaiing with the Market Reserve block. Tlie acting secretary of the Napi°r Harbour Board wrote stating that tbe lioard is proposing to take up again tho matter of tlie disposal of the reserve lying between the Napier Boys' 1'igh Scliool and Ihe Napier Sonth Primarv Scliool, with tlie education autliorities, the letter being received. The council decided that representativos of the Rnghy Union, Hoekey Association and Soccer Association he asked to confer with the chairman of tlus committee and the horough engmeer regarding the alloeation of grounds on Nelson IJark, as follows: — Socecr, one ground at Jull street end ; boclcey. two grounds at Morris street end; Rughv, two or three grounds as tontatively arrangcd.
