I have resided in Hastings and the vicinity for the last 45 years, and all my business interests are in the towjs. I have long. practical experience ns a meinber and as Chairman of Local Bodies, which I trust you will consider fully qualify me for the position. For several years I was a member of your Borough Council, and for about fourteen years I was one of your Representatives on the Education Board, and for ten years I was Chairman of that Board. I was also a member of the Napier High School Board and of the H.B. Hospital Board for a period. In my opinion, the policy of the late Mayor and Council was sound and commendable, and it would be my ambitioSJ, if elected, to continue and develop i ti. I have made tentative arrangementa that will enable me,. should I be elected, to give the whole of my time and attention to your business if necessary.
