IN THE AIR
TO-MORROW'S BIG PAGEANT.
The Hawke's Bay Aero Club's big aerial pageant at the aerodrome to- ! morrow, is timed to start at 12.45 p.m. The first functions will be the various welcomes and the laying of the foundation tablet, etc., after which the aerial events will start. This is the first air pageant field in Hawke's Bay and should provide a thrilling, unique and interesting afternoon's attraction. Besides the actual competitive events a number of "stunts" will be presented so as to give the public an indication of how safe these planes really are. In all there will be ten planes present and all will take part in the formation and other flights. Intending patrons should note that cars will not be allowed to be parked immediately outside the aerodrome, special parking areas being allotted inside the ground. For the convenience of patrons, buses will leave the Hastings Post Office for the aerodrome every few minutes after 11 a.m. Lieutenant Smith, piloting one of Mr Mill's Moth planes arrived in Hastings yesterday afternoon. The other planes are all standing by ready to set out on receipt of advice from Hastings, and now that the weather has cleared advice that everything is O.K. has been sent. It is expected that all the remaining planes will reach Hastings some time this afternoon. The Minister of Defence, the Hon. T. M. Milford, is expected to reach Hastings by air this afternoon, and the Hon. Gordon Coates, who is patron of the cluh, will he met at Palmerston North to-morrow morning and brought on to Hastings by car.
