Anzac Day Commemoration Elsewhere.
Auckland. — Anzac Day was observed in dull and showery weather. A great crowd assembled at the Cenofapli outside the Town Hall. Archbishop Averill addressed a erowded congreeation at the service in the Town Hall. Palmerston North. — The Anzac Day ceremonies consisted of a parade of the returned soldiers, Territorials, Cadets and Scouts, followed hy a service at the Showgrounds conducted hy Padre J. M. Stewart, of Christchurch. The weather was threatening but held fine. Hamilton. — Anzac Day celebrations were held indoors on account of the rain, but many floral tributes were placed on the" Cenotaph at Memorial Park. Bishop Cherrington addressed a erowded meeting of Veterans, Scouts, Ouides, and the public at the Theatre Royal. Christchurch. — Anzac Day was observed with tbe ceremonial now regularly followed in tbe city. There was a parade of tbe Territorials andi Cadets, with 800 returned men. Tlie afternoon's service was held in King Edward Barracks, at which Professor Sbcllcy delivered tbe address. A large number of wreaths were laid at the appointed spot in front of tbe Catbedral. Timaru.. — Tbe Anzac Memorial service was held in fine weather and was attended by thousands. Tbe parade, which was a large one, comprised returned soldiers. South Afrioan veterans and Territori.nl forcos. Major Gilray, of Dunedin, the principal speaker, gave a stirring address. Dunedin. — Beautiful weather prevailed for Anzac Dav, which was solemnly observed. A large number of returned soldiers paraded and in company with several volnnteer units assembled in tbe Queen's Gardens, wliere a sbort military service was conducted in front of tbe handsome Returned Soldiers' Memorial. Tlie troops tbonfmarched to the Kensington Drill Hall, where the Rev. W. 5faclean, 5T.C.. of Oamaru, delivered an inspiring address.
Wanganui. — Services commemorating Anzac Day in Wanganui were largely attended. A Maori service in the IVroutoa Gardens was impressive becau.se it marked the first appearance in Whanganui of the Bisliop of Aotearoa, tlie Rt. Rev. F. A. Beunett. Later at a eombincd service in Cook's Gardens about 7000 were present.
