DESERT TRACK TOO ROUGH. Leaping Car Checks Speed.
(Eeceived This Day, Moon.) CAPETOWN, April 26. • Captain Alaleolin Campbell, after a further attempt at the speed record. said he was confident that if tlie track had been better he would have beaten Alajor Segrave's record. The car was leaping 30 or 40 feet and this interl'ered with his running times. Consequently his speed was lower than in tlie previous attempt.
