WEDDING BELLS
NEW5IAN— HOWELL. O11 April 24, an impressive and charming w'edding, which attracted visitors from many parts of New Zealand, was solemnisecl at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Milton road, the clnirch being suitably decorated, when Eleanor Amelia Idowell, only daughter of Mr T. G. Howell, of Nelson Creseent, was united in holy matrimony with Joss Foster Newman, son of Mr A. S. Newman, of Invercargill. Pastor W. 51. II . Scragg, of Auckland, officiated ancl 51 r» Mowlem, of AVellington, presidecl at the organ, the church being filled witb friends. Tbe bj-ide enterecl the church on tbe arai of her father, ancl lookecl -most cbarniing in her frock of wbite crepe de cbine, ancl prettily embroidered veil witb a coronet of orange blossoms. She also earried a beautiful bouquet of maidenhair fcrn ancl clioice fiowers. The bride was attended by two briclesmaids ancl two little flower girls. Miss 5Iyra Lord, of Taihape, was chief Inide.smaid ancl 51iss Gwen Plowman assisted. Tliey were dressed in mauve with fawn bats. Each earried a large hoiupiet of flowcrs. The two little flower girls, Botty and Barbara Howell, nieces of ihe bride, lookecl very sweet in their frocks of apricot and sky blue crepe cle chine. Each earried a golclen basket daintily decorated with flowers and showered rose petals in the patli of the bride. The cluties of best man were earried ont by Mr A. H. Helleur, and those of groomsman by Mr L. Howell; brother of tlie bride. Mrs Reg. Howell, sister-in-law of tbe bride, was attirecl in a pretty frock of grev georgette with lace, ancl hat to match, and Mrs R. Howell in black georgette relieved witli touches of_ blue. After the eeremony a number of guests were entertained at Blvthe's Tea Rooms, where a delightful wedding breakfast was taste fully served. The tablcs were decorated witli flowers and ferns. , . , At the conclusion of the breakfast many of the guests inspeeted the numerou'a and costly presents, including many siibstantial cheqnes, at the home of Mr Reg. Howell, hrother of the bride, the presents coming from many parts of New Zealand and aho from Australla, where the bride and bridegroom lately completed their nurses' course in the Sydney Sanitarium. Among those present were: — 51 r and Reg. Howell, Mr and Mrs R. Howell, 5Irs 5fowlem (Wellington'). 5Irs Sommerville and 5Ir« McDonald, Havelock, aunts of the bride. The happy couple will shortly ^ be leaving to take up duties in the AVarburtoa Sanitarium, Melbourne.
