THE ELECTIONS
REL1EVIKG COXGESTION. Iu connection with next Wednes.day's elections, the returning of&cer, Mr Percy 11. Purser points out that ou this occasion there will be two more polling booths than usual, and in order to avoid congestion he requests that voters will use the booth nearest tlieir place of residence. The dawn of each new day in Hastings further brings home tlie conviction that in connection with the Mayoral election it is "anybody's race." Each of tbe four candidates is working hard and each is confident of success. and even the publc find it hard to decide which of the four has tho best cliance. In view of the interest in tlie Mayoral contest. the interest in the other elections is somewhat overshadowed, but in all sections a very keen hattle is expected. MR McKAY'S AIMS. In this issue Mr Gilbert McKay inserts an advertisement to the electors concerning his candidature.
