HAAYKE'S BAY EXECUTIVE AIEETS. At the meeting of the Hawke's Bay executive of tlie New Zealand Farniers' Union, held in Hastings yesterday afternoon, Mr J. H. Joll presided. The lesignation of Alr Alalcolm AJason was received with regret. Mr Balharry read a letter from the Hawke's Bay Farniers' Meat C'o., Ltd., on caseous lymph adonitis in sheep. This emphnsised the fact that the ailnient was due to infection of wonnds during sliearing and crutching. The letter wns received. A letter from the North Taranaki Provinoial District re sterility in cows received mucli nttention, the general comment being that too mucli could not be expected of dairv cows, for their resouroes were not unlimitod. DAYLTGHT SAVTNG. A letter was received from the Dominion seeretary re daylight saving. The meeting agreed tbat _ daylight saving would be aoeeptable if it were at tlie rnte of half-an-hour per day for all the year. TRANSPORT BOARD. The Auckland executive wrote re the constitution of the proposed Transport Board. Tt was decided tliat the New Zealand Farmers' Union sliould, if possible, he represented on the board. THF. HOAVARD BEQUEST. The Department of Agriculture wrote ndvising that the Government had decided to recommend the appointment of Mr James Livingstone to represent the Farmers' Union on the Howard Bequest Advisory Board. Members protested agninst the noninclusion of a representative from the H.B. Farmers' Union and it was decided to forward a letter of protest to the Government.
