PARIS, April 27. Engine trouble caused Alase to make a i'oreed landing at Commclle. He , tricd to resunic when he fouled a trce and crashcd into a ploughed field The | machine is seriousl.v damaged. Alase | suffcrpd sliglit injuries. His continuation of tlie flight is improbablc. Tlie forced landing was made ncar a level crossing 011 the Roanne-St. Vienne railway line. Mase spent 90 minutcs testing his machine and then flew off, but trees brought tlie machine down into a steeple slopiug cornfield. Alase again set off, but struck an embankment and completely overturned. Alase was caught in tlie cockpit with his liead lianging down, lin t workmon hastily released him. AfaSe entrained for Lyons in the mornlnsv.
