AUCKLAND, Tbis day. Tbe naked body of a man, tliouglit to ! be Mr Thomas Preston, a returncd soldicr, was i'ouiul in a bathroom of an cmpty dwclling in Grey Aveiiuo. It is believcd that be lnul been dead for nearly two weeks. He liad apparently been getting into the bath when lie liad a seizti ro. Tlie door of tbe bathroom was locked and liad to be forced. * Tbe hous© had been untenanted since Cliristmas and thc doors were locked, but it was oasy for tlie deceased to have gained an entrance to tbe bathroom, wliicli opened on to a back yard. Mr Preston liad been painting a house in tbe vicinity about a fortnight ago.
