WEDDING BELLS
DASSLEll— WILLIAMS. A charming wedding took place at St. James' Church, Whetukura, wheu Mi'ss Reta Isobcl Wilb'ams, youngest daughtcr of Mr and Mrs W. J. Williams, and Archibald Ernest Dassler, eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. W. Dassler, of Te Uri, were joined togcther in lioly matrimony. Tlie church was decorated with chrysanthemums and lycopodium and proved to be much too small for tlie Jarge assembly of friends. Tbe Rev. F. W. Wliibley was tlie officiating clergyman, and tlie wedding mareh wa# played by Mrs O. S. Williams, sister-in-law of tbe bride. Tbe bride tvas given away by her fathcr, her bridesniaids .being ber sister. .Miss Olive Williams, and Miss Gretcben Dassler, sister of the bridegroom. Tbe duties of^ best man were carried out by Mr Gordon Dassler, Mr Ross Williams being groomsman. The dress worn by tbe bride was of pink mariette, witli lace_ yoke and sleeves. the liem of tlie skirt also being trimmed with lace. Her veil of pink silk net. caugbt with pink anl silver ffowers, hung down to form a train. She wore silver sljoes and stockings, and carried • a bouquet of pink and wliite hothouse ffowers and maidenhair fern. Tlie bridesniaids were dressed in pink geOrgette and silver lace and wore pinlc felt bats trimmed with pink rihhon and pinlc and silver ffowers. They carried bouquets of pink elirysantliemums, begonias and maidenhair fern. Little Miriam Nicholson, nicce oT the bride, attended as a flower gii'L dressed in pink georgette and carried a baslcet of pinlc and wliite ffowers. After tlie eeremony tbe guests, numbering about 200. were eutertained at the Whetukura Hall, wliicli was also decorated in tbe prevailing colours. The bride', s mother received her guests in n dress of hlaclc silk repp relieved with gold, and a blaek velvet hat. trimmed with ospreys aud gold.■She carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums. Tbe bridegroom's mother wore blaek crepe de cliene, trimmed with cream and hlaclc and cream hat, Slie carried a bouquet of Autumn tints. The usual toasts were bonoured, ancl tbe guests had an opportunity _ of seeing tlie mimerous -and beautiful presents. Tbe bridegroom's^ present to tbe bride was a dotible string of pale pink pcarls and to eacli bridesmaid a «tring of ivory pearls. His gift to tbe flower girl was a cold armlet. T11 the eveiiiiur Mr nnd 51rs Williams entertained their friends at a dance in the hall.
