HAWKE'S BAY ELECTRIC POWE& BOARD. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The first annual meeting of the new-ly-elected Hawke's Bay Electrie Power Board was held in Napier yesterday afternoon, when Mr W._ Harvey presided over the following attendance: — Messrs H. Hill, M. S. Chandlers, L. J.; Harvey, R. Baker, T. E. Crosse, J. Ellis, S. Ashcroft, C. H. Wilkie, and A. Hobson. HOSPITAL CHARGES. A letter was received . from the Hawke's Bay Hospital Board applymg for a reduction in the lighting rate char°*ed at the Hastings Hospital. It was stated in the letter that the present price was at the rate of 8d per unit for the first 300 units and 6d per unit for the balance over the two months. _ Tiie secretary explained that the supply to the hospital _ in question went through the Hastings Borough. Council. The board got barely enougk to pay interest and sinking fund on the line erected. The chairman stated that it was qnestionable whether the board would not be better to take over the direct supply to the hospital. It might then be possible to reduce tlie rates. Members expressed themselves _ in favour of the chairman's suggestion, and it was finally decided to approach the Hawke's Bay Hospital Board and get its opinions 011 the matter. HAVELOCK RETICULATION. The clerk of the Havelock North" Town Board advised that the board was not agreeable to give effect to the Power Board's i"esolution offering to purchase part of their reticulation. — Reseived.
