FALSE PRETENCES
FURTHER CHARGES AGAINST OLERK. ORDERED TO COME UP FOR SENTENCE. Artliur Graliam Owen, tiie clerk, who was admitted to probation in the Napier Police Court yesterday morning on six charges of false pretences, was again before the court this morning, when, through Mr L. A. Rogers, he pleaded guilty to two further charges of obtaining goods and money by false pretences. Detective-Sergeant Fitzgibbon explained that tliese charges would have been dealt with yesterday bad not the necessary file been delayed in transit from Wanganui. Ho suggested tliat were accused- convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon it would meet the case. Messrs C I. Steevens and A. E. Bedford. J's.P., on tlie Bench, dealt with accused accordingly on both cliarges
