Hastings, of Napier, wbo bas been confined to the Napier Hospital for some time, bas sufficiently recovered to be able to leave tbat institution. Mrs J. T. Miller, of Waipawa, wbo had to enter tbe District Hospital last week, to nndergo a sligbt operation, is now making good progress towards recovery. Mr. N. J. Adamson, orcbard instructor, of Hastings, left by tbis morning' s express train for Wellington, to attend tbe annual conference of orcbard instructors. Mrs McAllister, relict of tbe late Gaptain D. McAllister, of Napier, passed away on Suuday after a long illness patiently bonie. Sbe leaves a grownup family of five to mourn tbeir loss. Mr Adam Wlison, nianager of the Thames brancli of the Bank of New Zealaud, bas been appointed manager of the Gisborne braiicb. Mr Wilson will be succeeded at Thames by Mr J. S. Columb, manager of the bank's Whakatane brancb. Major-General R. Young, C.B., C.M.G., D.S.O., will arrive in Hastings by tbe express train to-morrow night to attend tbe ex-Servicemen' s reunion. Herbert Speigbt, of St. Mattliew's parish, Hastings, was ordained priest at a special service in St. Mattliew's Church yesterday morning. He was presented to tbe Rt. Rev. Bisbop Sedgwick, Bisliop of Waiapu, wbo conducted tbe ordination service, by Arcbdeacon Brockleliurst. The sermon was greached by tbe Rev. Jolin Hobbs. Mr J. W.
